A Shanghai new energy enterprise with an annual output of 30,000 tons of ternary precursor materials has strict requirements for slurry quality, limiting iron impurities to ≤30ppb in 55% solid content slurry. Traditional permanent magnetic separators can only remove strong magnetic particles with low efficiency for weak magnetic impurities such as Fe₂O₃, and are prone to blockage and frequent shutdown cleaning. In May 2026, the enterprise introduced a high-gradient wet slurry electromagnetic separator. Equipped with an adjustable maximum 1.8T strong magnetic field and stainless steel medium mesh, it effectively captures 5-50μm weak magnetic iron impurities. The fully automatic excitation, flushing and slag discharge system supports 24-hour continuous operation, perfectly adapting to high-viscosity battery slurry. After implementation, the slurry iron content is stably maintained at 15-25ppb with a 100% compliance rate. The equipment operates continuously without blockage, eliminating manual cleaning and saving more than 700 working hours annually, and has been promoted to two new production lines.
