Dry Powder Electromagnetic Separator Realizes Water-free Deep Iron Removal for Photovoltaic Silicon Raw Materials at Ind

2026-06-30
A brand-new dry-process quartz sand processing base was put into operation in East Java, Indonesia in June. The local area suffers from water scarcity, making wet magnetic separation lines impossible to build. Traditional permanent magnet equipment cannot remove weakly magnetic hematite associated with ore, resulting in low whiteness of quartz sand that fails to meet supply standards for photovoltaic glass manufacturers in Southeast Asia.
The full dry grinding production line is equipped with high-power dry powder electromagnetic separators. With variable-frequency uniform feeding and adjustable gradient strong magnetic field, the equipment deeply removes impurities from dry quartz powder without any water consumption or wastewater discharge. A sealed dust removal structure is matched to adapt to hot and dusty tropical working conditions, enabling stable 24-hour continuous operation without magnetic attenuation.
After commissioning, the iron content of quartz sand is reduced to less than 0.06% with whiteness improved to 93.8, reaching the raw material standard for photovoltaic cover glass. Each unit can process 1,200 tons of quartz powder daily, with iron removal efficiency 63% higher than traditional dry permanent magnet equipment. The mine operator recommended the same dry powder electromagnetic separators to two surrounding quartz processing plants.
